Getting out of a rut!

OK I have got to get moving and get out of this rut. I have created a list of things I want to accomplish in the next few years. Preferably one year! Anyway, I am going to get started on my list very soon.

One another note, I should have a patio in the next few weeks!! HOORAY! I can finally sit outside and enjoy myself. The girls will have somewhere safe to play near the back door. Well Breesa anyway because Peyton is big enough to walk around the block.

Breesa is learning to read! That is exciting. We were plugging away the lessons but have hit a speedbump. We will be back at it soon.

On the top of my list is the house. I MUST get it finished!!

Health in 2009

We started a journey for better health in 2008 but we are continuing to make things better. I am of PROUD of my husband who didn't have ONE SINGLE DROP OF SODA last year!! He gave it up for better health and hasn't touched it since. Yeah for him...I still get it from time to time when we got out to eat. This year he gave up fast food, debbie cakes, and pretty much ALL junk food unless it's homemade.

With him making such big decisions, it sort of affects us all. We have been eating at home a lot more. And consequently I have been cooking a lot more. I have been making soups, stews, and casseroles in the crock pot. I made some oatmeal raisin scones and malt-o-meal muffins. I also made homemade salad dressing which went over well. Salads are a big staple now a days. I mix up whatever greens are on sale but preferably spinach and romaine. I add some red cabbage, cucumbers, green peppers, carrots, and whatever else is on sale. Breesa and I also made homemade croutons...the hardest part is not eating them all.

I am still experimenting with breads. I found a potato bread that is so good but a lot of work! Another change I made was coking brown rice a lot. I add it to most meals because of it's nutritional value, it's filling, and cheap. All in all our new ways of eating are great.

A long winter

Well it's seems like it has been a long winter!! I have stayed inside for most of it. I haven't written anything in my blog in a few months because we have been adjusting to the new baby. Nataly Gracen is a blessing to say the least!!

Nataly is blossoming beautifully. She is smiling and talking to us in baby coos. Breesa has been busy being a big sister, which is probably her favorite thing of all. Peyton is back in school and keeping busy with her friends.

We have been staying busy no doubt. We have pretty much changed our diets to whole foods. I am getting in a better routine about cooking dinner since I had the baby. I was spoiled to have two weeks worth of food cooked for me!! It was hard to get back in the kitchen.

Right now I have been working on becoming a Proverbs woman. I recently took up selling on ebay. Pierce was doing a lot of it but I have more time than he does so I am helping and we are doing it together. I wasn't ready to go back to school yet so I will be starting that in the spring.

I may type a few posts from the past few months since I have been too busy and we had a few big things happen.
